We reached out to 14–17 learners across all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) to understand their pain points better.

One of the major complaints was that learners found it difficult to switch batches. The existing system required them to raise support tickets or reset the SAT (Scaler Admission Test), processes they didn’t fully understand or find intuitive.

One of the major complaints was that learners found it difficult to switch batches. The existing system required them to raise support tickets or reset the SAT (Scaler Admission Test), processes they didn’t fully understand or find intuitive.

We needed to view the problem from the user’s perspective and prioritize their needs. Instead of overwhelming them with multiple call-to-actions (CTAs), we streamlined the process.

We redesigned the batch allocation screen, replacing three CTAs with a single, clear “Change Batch” button. This simplified the process, reducing friction and confusion for learners.

After clicking Change Batch, learners were presented with 3 easy-to-understand options:

Learners could go back and select their batch timing again, without having to go through unnecessary steps.

For those opting for a beginner batch, we provided a direct callback from a dedicated team, eliminating the need for support tickets and ensuring a quick resolution.

 If eligible, they were directed to the batch preference screen. If not, we clearly outlined the steps they needed to take to qualify for the advanced batch.

Another issue was the lack of transparency around batch details. Learners often had to dig through a text heavy Google doc to find critical information about their batch, causing frustration.

and other commitments.

We added clear test duration information to the “Take Test” screen, allowing learners to plan their time better, especially for tests lasting 2 hours or more.

Around 10–11% of learners hesitated in selecting their batch due to uncertainty on which one suited them

To simplify this decision, we introduced personalized batch recommendations based on the learner’s current job, years of experience, and SAT score, making the selection process clearer.
